As a Service Technician, you will work on advanced medical devices and proton therapy systems, supporting clinical operations and ensuring optimal performance of cutting-edge technology. 

Based on-site in Uppsala, Sweden, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous improvement of complex systems such as cyclotrons, beamlines, and patient positioning systems. 

Key responsibilities

As a Service Technician, you will: 

  • Ensure the proper operation of proton therapy systems and medical equipment to support patient treatments and clinical activities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electromechanical and electronic systems 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving electrical, mechanical, electronic, and software components
  • Contribute to software testing, validation, and new developments
  • Execute system upgrades and improvements in collaboration with R&D teams
  • Maintain and service electromechanical equipment according to maintenance schedules
  • Test systems and equipment according to technical specifications
  • Communicate system status clearly to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support daily operations alongside clinical staff, as defined by the Site Manager
  • Document maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance using appropriate tools 

Your profile

 

  • Bachelor in technical field (Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or similar) or relevant technical experience in field service, maintenance, or troubleshooting
  • Hands-on mindset
  • Experience with industrial equipment, or medical devices is a strong plus
  • Availability to work rotating weekday shifts between 5:30 AM and 11:00 PM, plus approximately one weekend every four weeks
  • Compressed 4-day work week (9 hours per day).
  • Strong command of English (spoken and written); Swedish is a plus
