Field Service Technician - Hardware

Mission

The Mission of the team is to maintain IBA’s equipment and systems either at IBA or on our customer’s site, with the aim of delivering final reliable working products that are matching quality, performance and customer satisfaction requirements, within defined timelines.

Challenges we trust you with

Responsible for maintaining essential equipment to the Proton Therapy System equipment (PTS), troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine preventative maintenance, conducting system inspections, updating and communicating system status, supporting hardware and software testing, and being involved in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities, which affect global operations.

Essential functions:

· Install and test equipment/systems according to the defined planning, procedure timelines, operating processes and specifications.

· Troubleshoot PTS equipment including physics, medical imaging, electrical, mechanical, and software problems.

· Perform maintenance of the PTS including but not limited to routine preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance as necessary and following defined protocols.

· Perform system inspections and clearly communicate the status of the system to leadership as well as to IBA employees.

· Provide support to PTS Hardware and Software testing.

· Maintain adequate records as defined by the customer and Site Manager in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.

· Support the PTS in all phases, which will include but not be limited to unit testing, integration testing, validation testing and other various site related activities as the Site Manager and STL defines them.

· Mentor and train less experienced operator technicians.

· Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

What we value

You have:

·  BA degree in electro-mechanics or equivalent experience.

· Experience in electronics, electrical system troubleshooting is required.

· Mechanical system repair, maintenance, and operations of large systems a plus.

· A team player with very good communication skills

· Willing to travel up to 60% of your time

· Willing to work on shifts (night shift and weekend shifts are possible

Work Environment

The position will need to be based within driving distance of one of IBA’s existing Proton Therapy sites with a preference for being based on East Coast.  Work will be performed both on site and remotely.  

Compensation and Benefits

The approximate annual base salary range for this position is provided below. Within this range, individual compensation is influenced by various factors such as location, job-specific skills, work experience, and relevant education or training. This role may also qualify for discretionary bonuses, profit sharing, commissions, and benefits.

$66,500 - $74,400 USD
