Mission

Our team is seeking a Chemistry Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize IBA radiochemistry and synthesizer equipment throughout North America.

As a Chemistry Field Service Engineer, you play a critical role in helping customers produce life-saving radiopharmaceuticals used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other serious diseases. You will support systems such as Synthera®, Neptis®, HPLC systems, dispensing systems, and other radiochemistry production equipment, ensuring they operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will become a trusted technical expert and represent IBA through your expertise, professionalism, and commitment to customer success.

Challenges we trust you with

• You will help deliver a final, reliable working product within defined timelines that matches quality, performance and customer satisfaction requirements
• You install equipment/systems accordingly to the defined planning, procedure timelines and operating processes
• You debug and report bugs to the Development Team, and you are in charge of testing equipment/systems according to the specifications
• You also maintain equipment/systems according to the maintenance schedule, and repair equipment/systems taking all necessary actions to solve problems
• You train less experienced colleagues to use properly and safely equipment/systems
• You document and report interventions and actions undertaken in CMMS, with the required level of details and accuracy

Challenges we trust you with

• Install, commission, qualify, and validate radiochemistry production equipment according to project plans, procedures, and customer requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency service interventions to maximize system availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, software, and process-related issues using a structured root-cause analysis approach.
• Work closely with customers, Technical Support, Engineering, Software, and Product Development teams to resolve field issues and implement improvements.
• Execute system testing, performance verification, and operational qualification activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Train customer personnel and less experienced colleagues on the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IBA chemistry systems.
• Complete service documentation, maintenance reports, and quality records accurately and in a timely manner within the CMMS and other required systems.
• Support new product introductions, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives by providing field feedback and technical expertise.
• Ensure compliance with IBA quality standards, customer procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements, including GMP and FDA expectations where applicable.

You have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, or laboratory systems.
• Knowledge of radiochemistry equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, chromatography systems, analytical instrumentation, or similar technologies is strongly preferred.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in demanding environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Proficiency with computer-based diagnostic tools, service documentation systems, and technical reporting.

• Willing to travel up to 60% of the time throughout the United States, Canada, and occasionally internationally.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends, holidays, and after-hours support when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Approximate Salary Range: $80,000 - $106,000

Variable Pay: Profit sharing, time-based compensation, “above & beyond” award, referral rewards
