As a Proton Therapy Service Engineer, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and upgrading the equipment that is essential to the Proton Therapy System (PTS). Your duties will include troubleshooting issues that arise with the equipment, performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance, conducting system inspections, and communicating the system's status to leadership and other stakeholders. You will support hardware and software testing, and be involved in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities. You will be tasked with reporting, documenting, and resolving non-conformities to enhance system performance.

As an Electromechanical engineer, you are responsible for:
· Operate the PTS for various customer needs, which will include but not be limited to: Patient Treatment, Patient Specific QA, Integration, Software/Hardware Testing, Troubleshooting, and Experimentation.
· Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
· Maintenance of the PTS including, but not limited to: routine preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance, as necessary.
· Perform system inspections and clearly communicate the status of the system to leadership as well as to fellow IBA employees.
· Provide support to PTS Hardware and Software testing.
· Support daily clinical operations for the customer clinical staff as defined by the Site Manager (SM), Site Technical Leader (STL), and in accordance with site policies.
· Maintain adequate records as defined by the customer and SM in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.
· Support the PTS in all phases, which will include but not be limited to unit testing, integration testing, validation testing and other various site related activities as the SM and STL define them.
What we value
You have:
· BS in Engineering or Physics (or other equivalent field or relevant work experience.)
· Electrical/Mechanical experience in system repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations of large integrated systems.
· Good manual dexterity and ability to work with tools.
· Candidates should have experience in several of the following fields: Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Software Analysis, Cooling and Vacuum System Principles, Sensors, Electric Motors, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, etc.
· Experience in the following fields is a plus: Proton Therapy, Cyclotrons, X-Ray Systems, Positioning Equipment, PLCs (Siemens), Regulation Loops, Drivers, and Medical Devices generally.
· Experience in LEAN maintenance and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
· General knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint are necessary.
· Basic knowledge of LINUX systems, SAP, Siemens Step 7, and Service Max is a plus.
· Rotating shift work including evenings and rare weekends and overtime as required. Generally, 40-hour work week.
· Knowledge and ability to adhere to various Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.

· Willing to travel during the training period (3 weeks Dallas [required], TX; 2 weeks Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium [optional])
· Flexible, willing to work in rotating shift work, evening work and occasional weekends.
· Motivated to learn new systems, principles, and techniques.
· Able to lift >50 pounds repeatedly, climb stairs, and safely work at heights with a safety harness.
