Our team is searching for a Field Service Engineer “Accelerator” with skills and passion to install, maintain, repair and upgrade IBA Proton Therapy equipment worldwide.
As a Flying Field Service Engineer “Accelerator", you play a key role in our mission to treat cancer patients. You participate in the installation and maintenance of the IBA systems, equipment on the Proton Therapy sites worldwide on customer’s site.
You ensure the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services. You will become a specialist in the latest cancer treatment solutions and represent IBA with your “know-how”.
Challenges we trust you with
- Install and test equipment/systems according to the defined planning, procedure timelines, operating processes, and specifications.
- Perform system troubleshooting and report improvements to the Research and Development Team.
- Maintain equipment/systems according to the maintenance schedule, and repair equipment/systems taking all necessary actions to resolve problems.
- Assist with the creation of training material and delivery of training to other colleagues.
- Document and report interventions and actions undertaken with high levels of detail and accuracy.
- Support the Remote Helpdesk shifts consisting of troubleshooting and dedicated support to our installed base.
- Participating in multidisciplinary projects to improve processes, product, and emphasize best practice sharing.
Skills and qualifications
You have
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of science (or equivalent) in physics, electronics, mechanics, or systems engineering, or Master of science (or equivalent) in physics, electronics, mechanics, or systems engineering with less experience, major of Particle Accelerator is a strong asset.
- Fluent or intermediate communication skills in English, oral and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of related work experience (with an emphasis on field work), Proven expertise in root-cause analysis, with the ability to lead large-scale system troubleshooting is an asset.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of electronics, Electro-mechanical backgrounds are a strong asset:
- RF systems.
- Power supply experience.
- Vacuum and pneumatic systems.
- Power supplies (high voltage AC and low voltage DC).
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems to plan proactive is an asset.
- Strong experience in high tech medical equipment is an asset.

- Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time, with more travel foreseen during the training period (+/- 6 months).

- Capable of adapting to different cultures and various interlocutors.
