IBA Industrial is looking for a talented Conveyor System Owner to manage the integration of the conveyor into our final integrated solution for our customers.

As Conveyor System Owner within IBA’s Industrial Business Unit, you will be part of the R&D System team and you interact with multiple stakeholders to capture, analyze and report the requirements and functionalities of the conveyor embedded in the IBA systems.

You design and deliver solutions that power IBA’s integrated industrial systems. With full end-to-end ownership, you drive the product from initial design through factory testing to final validation at the customer site. As System Owner (SO), your main responsibilities include:

 

  • Collaborate with the Conveyor System Architect and the Conveyor System Product Manager to fully understand customer needs and product ambitions.
  • Define System Requirement Specifications (SRS) and ensure their proper documentation.
  • Provide functional and technical specifications for required components, including interface definitions.
  • Define Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) protocols.
  • Evolve product design and specifications to integrate new features and improvements.
  • Establish and oversee system testing within the integrated product and manage proof-of-concept needs.
  • Validate detailed designs and project processes, while identifying and analyzing technical risks for both existing and developing devices.
  • Lead technical risk analysis and propose innovative solutions, including the development of test and simulation setups.
  • Conduct technology and scientific watch to recommend methodologies, frameworks, and standards.
  • In collaboration with Procurement and Legal, define contracts for the design and supply of new PHS solutions.
  • Work closely with R&D Project Managers to follow up on the technical design and installation of PHS solutions.
  • Provide support for product maintenance and ensure smooth transfer to Customer Service, Product Management, and Operations teams.
  • Act as the main internal and external contact point during project execution, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective support.
  • Identify development issues early and promote continuous improvement.
  • Over time, take on the role of Electronic Architect, supporting engineers through training, coaching, and technical guidance.
  • Utilize requirement management tools (e.g., Polarion) to structure and monitor specifications.

What we value

 

Profile

 

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Solid technical background (5-10 years) in heavy industries—ideally in conveying, logistics, or intralogistics systems—with proven expertise in Process Handling Systems (PHS) and conveyor technologies.
  • Strong skills in system requirements definition and management, including the software integration of PHS with other machinery and subsystems.
  • Experience with electronics development processes and subcontracting.
  • Knowledge of requirement management tools (e.g., Polarion, JIRA) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

  • Autonomous, well-organized, and meticulous in your daily work and documentation.

 

Languages & Travel

 

  • Fluent in English, with good proficiency in French.
  • Willing and able to travel worldwide (up to 15- 30% of your time).
