Job Description

The Digital Factory software team focuses on the development of state-of-the-art software solutions that enable IBA to deliver the best possible service worldwide. We value agility, ownership and we are not afraid to challenge the status quo.

Your mission is to contribute to the development of our IoT software suite. Being the result of an in-house development, 100’s of employees on proton therapy sites are using the software solution on a daily basis. Under the lead of a product owner, an exciting roadmap of future developments is ready to be tackled by you. This is your chance to contribute to an exciting software product for our worldwide user base.

More in detail, you'll use your experience to work closely with other software engineers to ensure technical product success aligned with business needs of our different business units

Challenges we trust you with

As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities are to:

  • Assist in the technical software design;
  • Develop production-grade code;
  • Develop customized screens on the frontend;
  • Implement business logic on the backend;
  • Ensure sufficient code testing coverage;
  • Monitor and operate the solution in production;
  • Ensure technical documentation of the solution;
  • Support analysis and resolution of issues during the product’s lifetime.

What we value

You have:

  • a master's degree in computer science or an equivalent experience in software development;
  • at least 3 years of experience as software engineer;
  • experience in development of Web applications and at ease with all the components of a full development stack; this includes at least the following languages and frameworks:
    • 1. Kotlin/Java 17+ (frameworks: Micronaut/Springboot, tools: Gradle/Maven)
    • 2. Angular
    • 3. Python is a plus
  • experience with container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes);
  • experience with standard development workflows (Git, code reviews, continuous integration and deployment);
  • used to Agile and DevOps concepts;
  • experience about various programming models and paradigms (event-driven architecture, SOA, asynchronous VS synchronous);
  • excellent communication skills in English;
