Service Technician

Mission

As an R&D Chemistry Laboratory Technician, you will join the Discovery Lab, dedicated to developing innovative projects and new applications for advanced high-energy particle irradiation technology.
A key current initiative focuses on environmental solutions to address persistent contaminants, such as PFAS. In parallel, the laboratory is driving other innovative and high-impact research projects, including CO₂ treatment and dioxin remediation, and will continue to expand into new scientific challenges.

Location:  Louvain-la-Neuve, BE
Work regime:  Full-Time
Kind of contract:  Fixed Term Contract (1Y)

Challenges we trust you with

•    Participating in the design and execution of experimental and test plans
•    Preparing large number of samples, solutions and materials required for laboratory activities
•    Proposing new ideas and improvements to experimental procedures and method development
•    Accurately recording all activities and results in the laboratory notebook, in compliance with guidelines
•    Analyzing and interpreting experimental data 
•    Reporting and presenting results; writing technical summaries
•    Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and cross-functional scientific teams
•    Managing laboratory reagents, equipment and orders
•    Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards

What we value

You have:

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry
•    Knowledge and Hands on of chromatography; experience with MS or ICP 
•    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
•    Fluent French (C1) is required
•    English (B2) is expected

•    Highly rigorous with strong attention to detail
•    Strong analytical mindset
•    Team-oriented with the ability to integrate easily into a collaborative environment
•    Agile and adaptable, able to switch efficiently between activities and priorities
•    Open to international short-term assignments
