Mission
The System Requirement and Verification engineers are part of the Innovation and Development group. Their core mission is to design and develop the world leading solution for image guided Proton Therapy and other medical diagnostic and sterilization applications using ionizing radiations.
Within the system engineering group, you will share responsibility of managing the system requirements, safety and verification of the imaging system embedded in the Proteus 235 proton therapy product.
In this role, you will ensure that your work complies with the highly regulated environment of medical applications using ionizing radiations; and commit to deliver an effective product with the highest customer value.
Challenges we trust you with
- Ensure requirement engineering activities for new projects and product changes by negotiating with project stakeholders, decomposing, allocating and flowing down system requirements, and tracing and documenting them in a complete and consistent way
- Coordinate safety and reliability analysis activities throughout the design and development phase
- Ensure design verification engineering practices by defining test plans, test methods, analyses, design reviews and performing tests
- Participate in requirement, safety and verification activities related to conformity to IEC / ISO international standards
- Lead the improvements of system engineering methods and tools (collect, suggest and implement changes in agreement with the experts)
What we value
- A degree in Science or Engineering; with a multidisciplinary background or in the following disciplines: physics (magnetism, particle physics, RF), SW engineering, electrical engineering, control systems, robotics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system, design and integration
- You have one or more of the following experiences:
- Capability to operate in Agile and V-Model development processes in complex system development. Capability to develop and maintain processes in this framework
- Applied Verification and validation techniques, including test method design and test execution
- Application of regulatory and quality constraints in a critical and complex environment
- Interest in the design and development of complex electrical medical equipment
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
What we value

- A degree in Science or Engineering; with a multidisciplinary background
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in system, design and integration
- Experience in systems engineering disciplines is a must;
- You have one or more of the following experiences:
- Capability to operate in Agile and V-Model development process in complex system development. Capability to develop and maintain processes in this framework
- Applied Verification and validation techniques, including test method design and test execution
- Application of regulatory and quality constrains in a critical and complex environment
- Interaction with internal and external third parties, including Product Management representative, customer representative, third-party representatives, regulatory authorities
- Proficient use and maintenance of a Requirements management tool (DOORS; RQM, Polarion, Helix, …) or management tool used in sw development (Jira, …)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
And you also are:
- Experienced in working with complex systems engineering topics - abstraction/decomposition
- Capable of thinking cross-functionally and dealing with multi-disciplinary engineering aspects
- Structured and rigorous with excellent documentation skills, even in a hectic context
- Not afraid to challenge your peers, seeking the best solutions
- A team player able to communicate / facilitate / focus on promoting solutions
- Quality focused, working for the highest value for your stakeholders
- Able to interact with internal and external people, including product management representatives, customer representatives, third-party representatives and regulatory authorities
- You are ready to travel up to 15 % of your time for testing activities
