Mission
As Global Radiation Safety Manager, you will be responsible for aligning and overseeing Radiation Safety practices across all IBA Business Units worldwide. You will define global standards, support compliance with international and local regulations, and promote a strong radiation safety culture across the organization.
You will work closely with internal Radiation Safety Officers in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, as well as external radiation safety partners and authorities in several countries. The position reports to the Head of Health & Safety (H&S).
Challenges we trust you with
• Define and maintain global Radiation Safety standards, policies, and guidelines applicable across all IBA locations.
• Ensure consistent alignment of radiation safety practices worldwide, while respecting local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and support internal Radiation Safety Officers across regions, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Work closely with the Belgium Radiation Safety Manager to ensure local implementation aligns with global expectations.
• Liaise with external Radiation Safety Officers, consultants, and regulatory authorities in multiple countries.
• Lead and support the internal network of Radiation Safety Champions within operational teams.
• Monitor international regulatory developments and integrate best practices into global programs.
• Support radiation safety aspects of new installations, facility changes, and business growth projects.
• Oversee radiation safety training frameworks and promote awareness across the organization.
• Participate in audits, risk assessments, and due diligence activities related to radiation safety.
• Promote continuous improvement and a strong radiation safety culture across all business units.
What we value
You have:
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Radiation Safety within a regulated industrial, medical, or technology environment.
• University studies related to the domain of Radiation Safety, combined with certification as Radiation Safety Officer or Radiation Safety Expert.
• Good knowledge of international radiation safety regulations and best practices.
• Experience working in a global or multi site organization.
• Ability to influence and align stakeholders without direct operational responsibility.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal teams and external authorities.
• Structured, proactive, and accountable approach to safety and compliance.
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages (such as French or German) is considered an asset.
