Mission

 

 

In the field of nuclear medicine, radiometal isotope production has grown significantly over the last years. Specific target substrates are essential to produce these isotopes, and Radiopharma has, for several years now, undertaken a full renewal of its solutions portfolio to build a more competitive product offering.

 

Many of these new projects involve substantial R&D activities with a strong emphasis on radiochemistry—expertise that must continue to be developed, strengthened, and industrialized in the coming years.

 

To achieve its business objectives, the Business Unit is seeking talented R&D Laboratory Technician who will actively contribute to the execution of the R&D roadmap as well as to customer equipment projects.

 

As a member of the Research and Development organization, composed of experts dedicated to develop and validate solutions for production of medical radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.

 

This includes early‑stage feasibility studies, prototype development, process optimization, and potential manufacturing of specific component for radio isotopes production.

 

Your work will directly support the creation of innovative technologies that advance the availability, efficiency, and safety of radioisotope production worldwide.

 

Challenges we trust you with

 

  • Design and execute laboratory testing in the field of electrochemistry, record observations, and interpret findings.
  • Record all experimental data and test results accurately and in the specified format (written and/or electronic.)
  • Participate in the elaboration, production, and characterization of raw material to ensure customer needs.
  • Organize, manage testing facility, store, and manage stock of all chemical substances and fluids according to safety instructions.
  • You will develop processes, procedures, and specifications according to customer and roadmap needs.
  • Ensure that safety guidelines are respected within the laboratory.
  • Maintain daily logs and equipment record books.
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to minimize downtime
  • Order and reception of laboratory supplies, as needed.
  • Provide technical support, when necessary.
  • Ensure up to date technical, product and QC documentation and efficient update of database
  • Follow up on equipment, technology and laboratory practice.

What we value

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry
  • Orientation in industrial/inorganic chemistry is preferable.
  • Proven experience working as a lab technician is an asset
  • Working experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment.
  • Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, corrosive liquids, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of preventative measures and laboratory best practices.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
  • Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Result focused.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Competent in creating reporting.
  • Team player and creative mindset
  • A driving license (B type)
  • Easy going and fluent in French and English (min B1)
  • Willing to occasionally travel internationally for short missions.
  • You are located in Belgium

Cherry on the cake

 

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in electrochemistry or solid phase extraction with inorganic material.
  • You have experience with optical/digital microscope
  • You have experience with ICPMs method development
  • You have experience in radiochemistry
