Thanks to the unique properties of protons, tumors can be targeted more accurately while limiting exposure to surrounding healthy tissues. We provide two types of therapy centers: IBA’s Proteus®PLUS, offering a multi-room solution, and the Proteus®ONE, a more compact single-room solution that is easier to install, integrate, and operate. To date, over 58 world-renowned medical institutions have built a Particle Therapy Center with IBA across 3 continents.

Challenges we trust you with

As a member of the Automation Engineering Team in the R&D Department, you will be involved in various lifecycle phases of control systems and industrial IT.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with team experts to analyze automation projects and define hardware and software specifications.
  • Developing software by analyzing, programming, testing, and commissioning related control systems while ensuring project documentation aligns with internal QMS procedures and guidelines.
  • After a transition period, owning a ‘control unit’ and its related software solutions. You will oversee development follow-up, prepare work packages, and be responsible for overall quality.
  • Providing high-level technical support following system start-ups.

 

Our domain ranges from hardware definition to web HMI; from field experience to version control.

What we value

  • Degree in Automation Engineering or Industrial IT.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operation, support, and development.
  • PLC programming skills (Siemens STEP7 and TIA Portal, B&R).
  • Communication skills in English and French.
  • Based in Louvain-La-Neuve, open to international travel for short missions (3 weekends & 2 weeks per year).
  • Having a driving license (B type).

 

Technical skills nice to have but not mandatory:

  • SCADA programming in Wonderware Archestra, Wonderware InTouch, B&R Visual Component is an asset.
  • Industrial IT programming (.Net, Python, SQL, Web) is an asset.
  • Programming of Safety PLC (Siemens; B&R) is an asset.
  • Good understanding of Industrial communications (Profibus-DP, PROFINET, ModbusTCP, S7, OPC-UA, and other industrial protocols).
  • Knowledge of motor drivers and motion systems (SEW, Schneider Electric, B&R).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
  • Knowledge of VMWare environment (ESX, Workstation).
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite.
