R&D Automation Engineer

Key responsibilities

As an R&D Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of our medical equipment control systems.

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Develop and program automation solutions using Siemens STEP7, TIA Portal, BNR, following a V-cycle approach.
  • Design and integrate SCADA systems (Wonderware Archestra, Wonderware InTouch).
  • Conduct FAT/SAT testing and validation, both internally and on client sites.
  • Lead a control module and ensure its software maintenance.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients.

Key challenges of the role

  • Development & Programming: Creating and improving automation solutions.
  • Validation & Testing: FAT/SAT cycles, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Support & Training: Assisting teams and clients with implemented solutions.

Your profile

  • Degree in Automation, Industrial Computing, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, including:
    • PLC programming (Siemens STEP7, TIA Portal) and/or BNR
    • SCADA development (Wonderware Archestra, InTouch)
    • FAT/SAT testing and validation in a V-cycle approach
    • Industrial communication protocols (Profibus-DP, PROFINET, ModbusTCP, OPC-UA) and Safety PLCs
    • Knowledge of .Net, Python, SQL, Web development is a plus!
  • Languages: English (B2) & French (C1) required
  • Mobility: Occasional travel (10%), valid driver’s license (B) required
