Why join us?

At IBA, we use our technology to protect, enhance and save lives. As a global leader in particle accelerator technology and a certified B Corporation®, we bring innovative solutions to cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as to environmental and industrial applications. Joining IBA means joining a company where purpose, innovation and human values are at the core of everything we do. You’ll be part of a mission-driven organization that invests in R&D, promotes diversity, and values its people as much as its impact.

Context and role

As part of our digital transformation and platform strategy, we are looking for a Platform Engineer to help us industrialize and scale our internal Azure-based data and software platforms. You’ll join a team of 10 professionals within our Enterprise Architecture department, working closely with internal developer teams, data engineers, architects and reporting stakeholders to improve accessibility, performance, and automation of our cloud ecosystem. This is a new role with a broad scope and strong technical ownership, based at our headquarters in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium).

Your mission

Make our Azure platform faster, smarter, and easier to use for technical teams across IBA.
By enhancing modularity, automation and performance, you’ll enable developers and analysts to focus on delivering value, while ensuring the underlying infrastructure is reliable, scalable and well-architected.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop tools and frameworks to industrialize our internal Azure platform
  • Implement automation layers to improve usability and speed for platform users
  • Collaborate with developer teams, architects, and reporting users to identify needs and co-create solutions
  • Configure and optimize Azure services such as Data Factory, Databricks, and Kubernetes
  • Contribute to the automation of deployments, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to security and governance best practices across environments
  • Maintain codebase and scripts (e.g., in Python) for infrastructure management

Key challenges in the role

  • Aligning a wide range of use cases and stakeholders into a coherent platform offering
  • Supporting users with diverse technical backgrounds (developers, architects, analysts, business teams)
  • Scaling internal tools while keeping simplicity and speed of use
  • Managing complex Azure services integration efficiently and securely

Your profile

Must-have

  • Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Solid knowledge of Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Kubernetes
  • Good command of Python
  • Ability to think platform-wide, not just per project or module
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, or DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with other programming languages (Go, Rust)
  • Understanding of data governance and platform lifecycle management

What we offer

  • A meaningful role in a mission-driven company at the intersection of health and innovation
  • A permanent contract with a competitive package, including a company car, insurance, meal vouchers, etc
  • A flexible homeworking policy (hybrid: remote & on-site in Louvain-la-Neuve)
  • An international, agile and inclusive work environment
  • Opportunities to grow your skills and have a direct impact on internal tech enablement
  • The chance to contribute to life-changing technologies in oncology, radiopharma and beyond
