Mission
The Lead of Customs Program plays a key role in ensuring customs compliance (import and export) across the company’s operations while actively contributing to strategic decision-making and cross-functional alignment.
He/She will also support and oversee customs-related activities at destination markets, particularly in the U.S., India, and China.
Challenges we trust you with
The Lead of Customs Program serves as an internal advisor on customs matters and supports the business by aligning compliance requirements with operational and commercial objectives.
- Maintain and supervise customs master data (classification, origin, value) in SAP and other relevant systems - ensure accurate tariff classification (HS code) of goods, including documentation and audit readiness.
- Act as the internal advisor for customs matters across departments (procurement, engineering, legal, finance, business teams).
- Supervise daily operations with customs brokers and logistics providers to ensure timely, accurate declarations.
- Oversee export control compliance, including licensing for dual-use goods (e.g., cyclotron/rhodotron equipment).
- Act as the company’s representative towards customs authorities during audits, inquiries, and voluntary disclosures.
- Align customs practices across key destination markets and support local teams as needed.
- Conduct pre-entry screening of customs and import requirements for new markets, including documentation standards, licensing, product registration, and labeling obligations.
What we value
As a the Lead of Customs Program, we're looking for :
- Minimum 7 years of experience in customs or trade compliance in an international environment.
- Background in customs regulations, international law, or trade (legal training or customs certification preferred).
- Strong understanding of EU customs rules; experience with the U.S., China, and India is a plus.
- Fluent in English (French is a strong asset).
- Knowledge of customs systems, broker coordination, and export licensing.
- Hands-on, organized, and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
