Mission
Since few years Radiopharma started to totally renew its solution portfolio for a more competitive products catalog. The Radiopharma business unit is facing a growth of its order intake and prospect list since the beginning of 2015. Most of these new projects include R&D features with a strong focus on radiochemistry which still need to be developed and industrialized in the coming years.
To reach its business objectives, the BU is looking for talented R&D Laboratory technician to actively participate to the delivery of the R&D roadmap as well as the sold equipment projects.
As a member of the Radiochemistry Team – part of Research and Development (team of experts focused on chemistry solution to produce medical radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals) in the RadioPharma Solutions Business Unit, you will be involved in various lifecycle phases of product development.
Challenges we will trust you with
- Design and execute laboratory testing in the field of radiochemistry and organic chemistry, record observations, and interpret findings.
- Record all experimental data and test results accurately and in the specified format (written and/or electronic.)
- Participate in the elaboration, production, and characterization of radiolabeled compounds to ensure customer needs.
- Organize, manage testing facility, store, and manage stock of all chemical substances and fluids according to safety instructions.
- You will develop processes, procedures, and specifications according to customer and roadmap needs.
- Ensure that safety guidelines are respected within the laboratory.
- Maintain daily logs and equipment record books.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to minimize downtime
- Order and reception of laboratory supplies, as needed.
- Provide technical support, when necessary.
- Ensure up to date technical, product and QC documentation and efficient update of database
- Follow up on equipment, technology and laboratory practice.
What we value
- Bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry
- Orientation in organic/analytic chemistry is preferable.
- Proven experience working as a lab technician is an asset
- Working experience in quality control methods is an asset
- Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, corrosive liquids, radioactive materials etc.)
- Good knowledge of preventative measures and laboratory best practices.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
- Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Result focused.
- Analytical skills.
- Competent in creating reporting.
- Team player and creative mindset
- A driving license (B type)
- Easy going and fluent in English; French is an asset.
- Willing to occasionally travel internationally for short missions.
- You are located in Belgium (Liège)
Cherry on the cake
- You have 3-5 years of experience in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry
- You have experience with QC equipment (HPLC, GC, TLC,..)
