About the role
As an R&D Automation Engineer in our R&D Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Proton Therapy division, contributing directly to innovative cancer treatment solutions. Our team of 15 engineers and experts is expanding to take on exciting new projects and meet growing demand.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with team experts to analyze automation projects and define hardware and software specifications.
- Develop and implement control system software through analysis, programming, testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines.
- Own and manage a specific control unit and its software solutions post-onboarding. This includes overseeing development, preparing work packages, and ensuring comprehensive quality standards.
- Provide technical support after system startup, sharing your expertise both internally and with customers to ensure effective operation.
Our domain covers a wide range of topics, from hardware definition to web-based HMI, and field experience to version control management.
Your profile
- Degree in Automation Engineering or Industrial IT
- Minimum of 3 years in automation
- A first experience in PLC programming (ideally Siemens STEP7, TIA Portal, B&R) or willingness to receive SIEMENS training
- Ideally experience in SCADA programming (Wonderware Archestra, Wonderware InTouch; B&R Visual Component experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of industrial IT programming (.Net, Python, SQL, Web), Safety PLCs (Siemens, B&R), and industrial protocols (Profibus-DP, PROFINET, ModbusTCP, S7, OPC-UA) is a big asset
- Personal attributes:
- Analytical and solution-oriented, capable of troubleshooting technical issues within project schedules
- Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with various stakeholders
- Fluent in English (B2) and French (C1)
- Open to short international travel (up to 10%) and very occasional weekend remote support. Driver’s license (B type) required.
