Mission
As a Deployment Strategy Engineer, you will play a key role in planning and documenting the instructions for the deployment of new product versions and updates/upgrades on Proton Therapy sites, involving multiple components (software, hardware, PLCs, IT infrastructure and more).
You will define the deployment strategy from the early stages of the project, analyze the potential impacts, coordinate within the R&D department and align with Service teams to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of system upgrades on site.
Your goal is to provide high-quality deployment documentation, detailed activities planning and risk assessment to ensure flawless execution on the field.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Product Architecture team to define the deployability of a new feature (before it is implemented in a new product version)
- Define and implement deployment strategies for new product versions that optimize upgrade sequences to minimize costs and avoid unnecessary rollbacks (based on Service Teams Deployement goals).
- Collaborate closely with the Service Department to identify potential issues in the deployment strategy and work instructions.
- Challenge Engineering teams with respect to the deployability of the new product version in construction
- Consolidate deployments work instructions for individual components/system elements (software, hardware, IT, PLC) into a consistent set of instructions for the whole system.
- Conduct risk analyses for deployments in collaboration with technical teams.
- Perform test and validation of the deployment work instructions on site to ensure readiness before delivery to Service teams.
- Collect feedback and improve deployment work instructions during the release monitoring phase.
- Support and coach deployment teams throughout the deployment of the first site for each release.
Skills and Qualifications
You have
- Minimum 3 years of experience on Proton Therapy (PT) sites or equivalent complex technical environments.
- Solid understanding of both software and hardware systems (balance between the two is ideal).
- Practical experience with on-site update/upgrade, testing and validation.
- Fluent in English (French is an asset but not mandatory).
