System Engineer

Mission

Thanks to a totally renewed and more competitive products catalog, the Industrial Solutions business unit is facing strong growth in its order intake and prospect list for the last 3 years. Most of these new projects are offered as an integrated solution to the end customers. 

To reach its business objectives, the BU is looking for a talented System Engineer to manage the integration of the conveyor into our final product. 
 
As System Engineer, you will be part of the R&D Integration team and you interact with several stakeholders to capture, analyze and report the requirements and functionalities of the conveyor embedded in the IBA systems and then, collegially with the team or individually depending on each case, propose solutions and develop them in order to meet the demand of a IBA Industrial solution. You have the “end-to-end” accountability for this product from the design phase through factory testing until final validation on the customer site. Besides, the presence of in-house experts knowledgeable in every technology embedded in the IBA products is one of IBA’s asset and differentiator.  

Challenges we trust you with

• Provide functional and technical specifications aimed at producing or sourcing the required components and specify the components interfaces. 
• Evolve product design and specifications for new features. 
• Establish and manage testing of the systems that are integrated in a product. 
• Ensure the support for product maintenance. 
• Establish proof-of-concept needs. 
• Validate detailed designs and project processes, identify technical risks of the existing and under development devices. 
• Lead the technical risks analysis. 
• Suggest innovative solutions and technology, develop test and simulation setups. 
• Ensure technology and/or scientific watch to suggest methodologies, framework, and standards. 
• In time, take the role of electronic architect and facilitate the training and daily work of engineers by acting as a technical coach. 
• Main internal/external contact point for the project execution; seek customer satisfaction and ensure support to internal and/or external customer. 
• Identify development issues early, seek continuous improvement. 
• Transfer to the team in charge of the post-project support (Customer Service department, product manager, operations…) 

What we value

• A master’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent 
• Minimum a first similar experience  
• A good knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of tools like JIRA and POLARION is an asset
• Experience in electronics development process and subcontracting
• The ability to manage a wide range of products, in detail and over time
• System requirements and management 
• Software management of PHS and its interactions with other machinery and sub-system
• Able to have a system view

• A good communicator and able to adjust your message to your audience, you can drive projects through change, in coordination with external stakeholders and other experts. 

• Able to organize your work autonomously and take initiatives. 

• Curious and you maintain your expertise at a good level to remain technically relevant and legitimate as skilled expert. 

• Rigorous and meticulous in your daily work and its documentation 

• Fluent in English and proficient in French 

• Willing to travel worldwide (a couple of weeks a year) – 15% of your time.
