Service Engineer Hardware (Hyderabad -Site 2)

Mission

IBA is hiring the installation team for Hyderabad’s second Proton Therapy (PT) Center. The PT center will be home to IBA Proteus One, featuring a compact one-room solution powered by a superconducting synchrocyclotron. The installation is expected to start between November 2026 and February 2027. It will be delivered within 12 months by an IBA team of 9 motivated individuals. The HW engineer first mission is expected to last ~18 months, including pre-assignment training and support for the site's transition to Operations.

As HW Service Engineer, you are responsible for installation, calibration and commissioning activities on the Proton Therapy Centre, with a specific focus on the electromechanical equipment.

• Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment on the Proton Therapy site with a broad exposure across all electro-mechanical sub-systems (cyclotron, gantry, power supply cabinets, electrical wiring, patient positioning equipment, etc...) 
• Testing, calibrating and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timing 
• Critically analyzing data to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Collaborating intensively during installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of equipment 
• Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services 

What we value

You have:

• A Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering (electronics, mechanical, electro-mechanical or biomedical) or an equivalent experience
• A sound experience in electrical cabling, systems troubleshooting and mechanical systems installation
• Technical knowledge of cooling systems, vacuum systems, electronic control units, drivers, sensors, electric motors, high and low voltage equipment 
• The ability to troubleshoot complex systems
• The ability to work autonomously on well-defined tasks 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Conscientious and organized, able to provide good quality reporting 
• Analytical, with good troubleshooting skills, able to identify root cause of issues
• Willing to share your knowledge in your area of expertise
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills
• A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, night work and weekends (up to 50% of your time)

Compensation package

The total guaranteed annual compensation range (which includes annual base salary, as well as flexible budget if applicable, and car budget in specific locations) for this position is provided below:

Total gross guaranteed annual compensation range: 1.4 LPA - 2.4 LPA

The salary range indicated above is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements and reflects the typical compensation scope for this position based on the role's level of responsibility, required expertise, and location. The actual offer will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account objective and gender-neutral factors including relevant professional experience, qualifications, specific competencies, and internal equity. The range does not constitute a guaranteed salary and is subject to adjustment based on the final assessment of the selected candidate's profile. The role might also qualify for additional compensation elements such as variable pay, profit sharing, and benefits which are not reflected in this range.
