Dosimetry Field Service Engineer

Mission

 

The Electro-Mechanical Technician plays a critical role in the repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance of IBA Dosimetry equipment. This position is evenly split between factory-based and field-based responsibilities. You will troubleshoot and repair devices both in-house and on customer sites, ensuring equipment meets performance and compliance standards. In parallel, you'll support service order processing, logistics coordination, and technical support activities that are central to operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. A strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and proactive mindset are essential due to the patient safety implications of our technology.

Challenges we trust you with

 

1. Equipment Repair, Calibration, and Preventative Maintenance (Factory and Field – 50/50 split):

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on dosimetry equipment in both the IBA facility and on customer premises.
  • Coordinate with global HQ to manage complex repairs and calibration needs.
  • Ensure timely resolution of service issues and prompt return of customer equipment.

2. Service Order Processing and Reporting:

  • Accurately log all repair and calibration work in the ERP system.
  • Generate reports detailing technician labor, parts usage, and service timelines.
  • Prepare repair quotes and work with customers to secure POs for all service-related work.

3. Logistics and Field Team Support:

  • Collaborate with logistics/inventory personnel to ensure timely and accurate delivery of critical spare parts.
  • Provide backup support for logistics operations when needed.

4. Technical Support and SME Assistance:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to support desk agents and field engineers on electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Occasionally serve as a primary support desk resource to resolve escalated technical issues.

What we value

 

You have:

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalent military training required.
  • 2–5 years of experience as an Electronics Technician or Field Service Engineer.
  • Experience with medical device equipment preferred.
  • Proficient with electro-mechanical systems, circuit diagrams, and basic repairs (including soldering).
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (ISO, FDA, etc.).

  • Highly skilled in diagnostics and repair of electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Experiences with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator.
  • Able to lift >50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods.
  • Possess excellent manual dexterity.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

Compensation and Benefits

 

The approximate annual base salary range for this position is provided below. Within this range, individual compensation is influenced by various factors such as location, job-specific skills, work experience, and relevant education or training. This role may also qualify for discretionary bonuses, profit sharing, commissions, and benefits.

$68,400 – $92,400 USD
