Mission
As a Proton Therapy Service Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment that is essential to the Proton Therapy System (PTS). Your duties will include troubleshooting issues that arise with the equipment, performing routine preventative maintenance, conducting system inspections, and communicating the system's status to leadership and other stakeholders. You will also support hardware and software testing, and be involved in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities, which affect global operations.
Challenges we trust you with
- Maintain and deploy the Proton Therapy System (PTS) for various customer needs, which will include but not be limited to: QA, Development, Software/Hardware Testing, Troubleshooting, and Experimentation.
- Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
- Maintenance of the PTS including but not limited to routine preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance as necessary.
- Perform system inspections and clearly communicate the status of the system to leadership as well as to IBA employees.
- Provide support to PTS Hardware and Software testing.
- Support daily clinical operations for the customer clinical staff as defined by the site manager and site technical leader (STL) in accordance with site policies.
- Maintain adequate records as defined by the customer and site manager in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.
- Support the PTS in all phases, which will include but not be limited to: unit testing, integration testing, validation testing and other various site related activities as the site manager and STL defines them.
What we value
You have:
- BS in Engineering, Physics or other applicable field, or a High School diploma with relevant work experience.
- 3+ years' experience in electrical/Mechanical system repair, troubleshooting, maintenance of large integrated systems.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to work with tools.
- Candidate should have experience in several of the following: Cyclotrons, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Software Analysis, X-Ray Systems, Positioning Equipment, Cooling Systems, Vacuum Systems, PLC’s (Siemens), Regulation Loops, Drivers, Sensors, Electric Motors, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, Proton Therapy Systems, etc.
- Solid general knowledge of/experience with - Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.
- Basic knowledge of LINUX systems, SAP, Siemens Step 7, and Service Max is a plus.
- Experience in LEAN maintenance and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus

- Willing to travel during the training period (+/- 2 months)
- A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, and occasional weekends
- Able to lift >50 pounds repeatedly, climb stairs, and safely work at heights with a safety harness.
- Eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.
