Service Engineer (Beam Management System Installation)

Mission

Responsible for installation, operating and maintaining the equipment that is essential to the Proton Therapy System (PTS), troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine preventative maintenance, conducting system inspections, and communicating the system's status to leadership and other stakeholders, support hardware and software testing, and be involved in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities, which affect installation activities.

Challenges we trust you with

  • Install and maintain the Proton Therapy System (PTS) for installation activities, which will include but not be limited to: QA, EHS, validation, integration testing, development, software/hardware testing, troubleshooting, and experimentation.
  • Troubleshooting PTS equipment includes electrical, mechanical, cyclotron, and beam physics.
  • Perform maintenance of the PTS including but not limited to routine preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance as necessary.
  • Perform system inspections and clearly communicate the status of the system to leadership as well as to IBA employees.
  • Provide support to subcontractors (rigging, survey, etc.), ID, EHS, and QA.
  • Maintain adequate records as defined by Site Manager in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

What we value

You have:

  • BS in Engineering, Physics or other applicable field, .
  • 3+ years' experience in electrical/mechanical system repair, troubleshooting, maintenance of large integrated systems.
  • Candidate should have experience in several of the following: Cyclotrons, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Software Analysis, X-Ray Systems, Positioning Equipment, Cooling Systems, Vacuum Systems, PLC’s (Siemens), Regulation Loops, Drivers, Sensors, Electric Motors, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, Proton Therapy Systems, etc.
  • Solid general knowledge of/experience with - MS Suite: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of LINUX systems, SAP, Siemens Step 7, and SalesForce is a plus.
  • Experience in LEAN maintenance and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.

  • Able to follow rules, regulations, and be able to deliver on strict deadlines.
  • Willing to travel during the training period (+/- 2 months).
  • A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, and occasional weekends.
  • Able to lift >50 pounds repeatedly, climb stairs, and safely work at heights with a safety harness.
