Mission
The Software Service Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of software and integrated systems supporting the Proton Therapy System (PTS). The role involves ensuring high system availability, supporting clinical operations, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, participating in testing and validation activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and reliable patient treatment services.
This position requires a strong combination of software expertise, system troubleshooting capability, customer focus, and operational discipline within a highly regulated healthcare environment.

System Operation & Clinical Support
- Operate and support the Proton Therapy System (PTS) for patient treatments, quality assurance activities, research, development, and experimental operations.
- Provide technical support during daily clinical operations to ensure uninterrupted patient treatments.
- Coordinate with clinical, physics, and engineering teams to maintain operational readiness of the facility.
Software & System Maintenance
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities on software and integrated control systems.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Support software deployments, upgrades, patches, and configuration management activities.
- Maintain system reliability and ensure compliance with operational procedures.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve software-related issues within complex integrated systems.
- Support troubleshooting activities involving software, networking, imaging systems, automation, electrical, and mechanical interfaces.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Escalate critical problems appropriately and coordinate with global support teams.
Testing & Validation
- Support hardware and software testing activities.
- Participate in unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and acceptance testing.
- Document test results and support implementation of engineering changes and system improvements.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, logs, and technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company Quality Management System (QMS), EHS requirements, and local regulations.
- Communicate system status, performance metrics, and technical issues to management and stakeholders.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge management programs.
- Support development of standard operating procedures and technical work instructions.
What we value
You have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Automation, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software support, troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, or system integration within an industrial or healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows, with working knowledge of Java and C/C++.
- Experience with version control tools, preferably Git.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networks, switches, firewalls, DNS, and network troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, automation, mechanical equipment, and control systems.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and provide on-call support when required.
- Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or CMMS is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Compensation package
The total guaranteed annual compensation range (which includes annual base salary, as well as flexible budget if applicable, and car budget in specific locations) for this position is provided below:
Total gross guaranteed annual compensation range: Indian rupees 13.38.000 – 20.34.800
