You play a key role in our mission to treat patients and fight cancer!
The ProteusOne installation project in Cairo will be the 1st Proton Therapy Center on the African Continent and in the Middle East. The Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (CCHE), our customer, is a unique healthcare institution in the Middle East that provides children with cancer with world-class quality treatment completely free of charge.
The Proton Therapy Center will be part of the Hospital 57357 complex located in the old city of Cairo close to Downtown Cairo.
It will be equipped with the latest ProteusOne system.
We offer a 12-month employment contract renewable according to the project timeline and customer service contract. It could be extended in the Customer Service phase.
You play a key role in our mission to treat cancer patients.
Over the next six months, you will participate in the final stages of installation (with a team of 4 colleagues). After that, you will be our main Point of contact and representative facing the customer on site to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly.
Challenges we trust you with
As a service engineer, you are responsible for:
During the installation phase (+/- 6 months)
- Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on the electromechanical equipment (electrical and electronics cabinets, cooling systems, vacuum systems, high and low voltage equipment, etc.)
- Testing and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timing
- Critically analyzing data to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Collaborating intensively during the installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of the equipment
- Troubleshooting the equipment including solving electrical and mechanical issues
- Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services
During the Customer Service phase
- Maintaining and troubleshooting the equipment
- Operating the system and providing technical support to the medical staff during patient treatment and clinical operations
- Ensuring the client requirements are met in term of technical performance, timing and safety
- Training customers
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment (shift work)
- Upgrading and improving the system in collaboration with the R&D (Research and Development) department
What we value
You have:
- A Bachelor degree in engineering (Electronics, Electro-mechanics or Mechanics), a Master degree would be desirable.
- Relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operations of large systems, as well as experience with different tools like cooling systems, vacuum systems, PLC´s regulation loops Programmable Logic Controller), drivers, sensors, electric motors positioning equipment, high and low voltage equipment (at least 3 years of experience in troubleshooting)
- The ability to troubleshoot large systems issues
- The ability to work autonomously on well-defined tasks
- Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations
- A full proficiency level in English and Arabic
