As a Proton Therapy Service Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment that is essential to the Proton Therapy System (PTS). Your duties will include troubleshooting issues that arise with the equipment, performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance, conducting system inspections, and communicating the system's status to leadership and other stakeholders. You will support hardware and software testing, and be involved in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities.

Challenges we trust you with
- Operate the Proton Therapy System (PTS) for various customer needs, which will include but not be limited to: Patient Treatment, Patient Specific QA, Integration, Software/Hardware Testing, Troubleshooting, and Experimentation.
- Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
- Maintenance of the PTS includes but not limited to routine preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance, as necessary. Provide support to PTS Hardware and Software testing.
- Perform system inspections and clearly communicate the status of the system to leadership as well as to IBA employees.
- Support daily clinical operations for the customer clinical staff as defined by the Site Manager, Site Technical Leader, and in accordance with site and company policies.
- Maintain adequate records as defined by the customer and site manager in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.
- Support the PTS in all phases, which will include but not be limited to unit testing, integration testing, validation testing and other various site related activities as the site manager and site technical leader define them.
What we value
- A BS in Engineering or Physics (or other equivalent field or relevant work experience).
- Electrical/Mechanical system repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations of large integrated systems.
- Great manual dexterity and ability to work with various hand and power tools.
- Experience in several of the following fields: Proton Therapy, Cyclotrons/Accelerators, High Power RF, X-Ray Systems, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Software Analysis, Cooling Systems, Vacuum Systems (Cryopumps), PLC’s (Siemens), Sensors, Electric Motors & Drives, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, etc.
- Experience in LEAN maintenance and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Experience with Embedded Computers, VMEs, Data Storage Devices, etc.
- Basic knowledge of LINUX systems, Siemens Step 7, Service Max, and SAP is a plus.
- General Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook etc. are necessary.
- Knowledge of OSHA and local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.

- Willing to travel during the training period (+/- 2 months)
- A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, evening work, and weekends.
- Able to lift >50 pounds repeatedly, climb stairs, and safely work at heights with a safety harness.
